Melissia & Alex

Melissia & Alex

Melissia & Alex here! We absolutely LOVE spending time outside and head into the wilderness as often as possible. Camping, hiking, fishing, snowshoeing, panning for gemstones, and soaking in hot springs are some of our favorite pastimes. Our fur kids are our constant companions on all of our adventures. Our mission is to share the love of the outdoors with others. Not only do we want to inspire you to get out in nature, we want to help get you there and enjoy yourself while you're doing it! We provide inspiration and education through our blog and social media platforms.

The Seven National Forests in Idaho

Dark Sky Areas For Stargazing

Dark sky areas are special. There’s something about getting away from all the light pollution and looking up at the sheer number of stars in the night sky. I don’t know about you but we love looking up at the sky at night and picking out constellations and specific stars or planets. It’s all part of the outdoor experience for us. What Are They? While researching the route for our upcoming road trip, I discovered there are specific areas where…

Celebrating Earth Day

Celebrating Earth Day happens yearly on April 22nd. Each year a theme is chosen; for 2022, the theme is Invest in Our Planet. While this day shines a light on the importance of doing our part to make positive impacts, you shouldn’t limit your activities to one day a year. When we camp, we prefer to do it away from a lot of people. On occasion we will camp in improved campgrounds that you can reserve – especially if we’re going to be in an area during a popular time, like a holiday weekend. Most of the time, we prefer to camp off-grid so we boondock. You might also have heard it called dry camping or dispersed camping. So what is boondocking exactly and what do you need to know…
